Claragh Loop (Millstreet)

Eoghan from Cork

This is a most enjoyable hike. I would highly recommend it. Beware that you should come properly prepared for weather changes and that the terrain requires solid footwear as well as the usual walking gear. I could see this walk becoming a favourite. A mix of country roads, forest walks, open fields, mountain side (a climb but not a scramble) and great views. It is very well signed once you get out of the town. It took us three hours and we are experienced walkers - if not very fast. For those who wish to try a challenge but who do not like mountains or having to navigate this is ideal. Only complaint is there was no obvious place in Millstreet for a post walk refreshment
