Tip O'Neill was Speaker of the US House of Representatives (1977-1987). His grandmother (Eunice Fullerton) was born in a one roomed cottage at Beam Hill, the ruins of which can be seen along the trail. The O' Neill story is outlined on an infoboard adjacent to the ruins.
