Slieve Bloom Walking
Marie from Clare
An enjoyable walk. Very well sign posted for those not familiar with route. Not too strenuous if used to walking. Trail brings you through forest, woodland, farms, riverside walk. Would highly recommend it.
Diana from Westmeath
One of the best routes in Slieve Bloom Mountains. Very well signposted, taking you first through an old lane , then nicely climbing until the Giant's grave is reached. There you can have a picnic as two tables are on site. The path continues its ascent, reaching the top where amazing views unfold. On descent, the route follows the Silver River bank which offers astonishing views as well (a waterfall and few viewing points). It is not a very easy route, however, if doing walks on regular basis, it poses no difficulties.
