This wooded loop follows forest road and is located on the south shore of Inniscarra Lake/Reservoir with a section along the verges of the lake, passing by the National Rowing Centre. A spur leads down to Mallard Cove for views out over the lake, Lee Valley and the adjoining countryside.

Was hoping this trail would be a bit more rustic rather than commercialized. Many people there as there is a children's playground and many picnic tables. There was also a public toilet which was handy. Too noisy if you are looking for a quiet walk in the woods or with nature. Many rooks about making loud noises as they beg for scraps of food from picnickers. Even though all this was unexpected, we still made the most of it and had a wonderful day of it. NOTE: Was surprised though that we had to pay €5.00 to park. On the way out, I noticed many people parked in No Parking Zone which made the place look bad from the road. Will probably visit again but it was a bit disappointing.
