This trail is a looped walk that climbs up along forest tracks up to the top of Gibbet Hill. The name comes from an old English word which translates into ‘Hanging Hill’ which hints of a place of execution. There are breath-taking views of Wexford, Wicklow & Carlow. The Marion statute which was constructed in 1954 is on the site of ‘Hanging Hill’. There are also wind turbines which provide energy to the national grid.
