Recently signposted and opened leads to fantastic views of the less familiar side of Achill. Not very strenuous but wet in places so suitable footwear needed. Locals sometimes will point out places of local and historical interest especially the castle ruin of the pirate queen Grainne Mhaol. Easy parking at walk head and local pub convenient for well deserved refreshments.

Fabulous views. A must for any Achill fan or anyone who likes spectacular seaviews. Nature of walk means get to see views from different sides of the island. Historic aspects - old coffin trail in part - very interesting. Particular benefit when I did it at launch was the locals talking about area and history. Wet underfoot in spots so need decent footwear. Could probably do with extra markers in couple of spots. While marked as strenuous you don't need to be a great hill walker to do - a moderate walker would be fine once ok footwear. Great to see community working to get this walk available for island visitors like me.
