Along with implementing Sport Ireland’s Policy on Diversity and Inclusion in Sport, the Diversity and Inclusion unit work across the organisation and sector to promote and support best practice regarding diversity and inclusion.

The Sport Ireland Diversity and Inclusion in Sport Policy was launched in May 2022, expressing the vision for a sport sector that celebrates diversity, promotes inclusion, and is pro-active in providing opportunities for lifelong participation for everyone.

ESF+ Programme

The Sport Ireland ESF+ programme "Sport 4 Empowerment" (S4E) implements socially innovative programmes, using sport and physical activity, to foster social inclusion and enhance the wellbeing, education, and economic prospects of people at risk of social exclusion.
