Evaluation of the Innovation for Sports Inclusion Fund

Sport Ireland, through the support of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, used the Dormant Accounts Fund (DAF) to invest €995,000 in 13 “Innovation for Sports Inclusion” projects across the country. These projects targeted actions identified in the National Sports Policy under key categories: outdoor activity; community sport; youth; technology; and inclusion. Also supported under the National Sports Policy is Action 10 which focuses on:

“In prioritising initiatives and programmes to engage groups with lower participation levels we will use behavioural insights and other research to better understand issues around non-participation.”

The finished report captures finding from an independent process and outcome evaluation of the funded projects. The purpose of this was to understand to what extent funded bodies who have rolled out the project have achieved their intended outputs, outcomes and aims, and if so, what are the factors that influenced this.

The information presented in this report was gathered during the period November 2020 and October 2021.
