Swimming: Bree qualifies for Olympics

Andrew Bree qualified for next Year’s Olympic Games at the USA Swimming National Championships in Indianapolis yesterday. Swimming for University of Tennessee, Bree smashed the Irish record held jointly by him and Michael Williamson twice. His time of 2.13.44 in the heats in the morning broke the Irish record by nearly a second and qualified him 4th fastest for the Final. In the Final he swam even quicker by improving his newly established Irish record by 0.39 seconds to 2.13.15 to finish 3rd behind the world record holder Brendan Hansen.

Andrew is in the International Carding Scheme at International Class Level. In 2007, he received an allocation of €12,000.
