Snooker: Irish Title for Muldoon

31 May 2007

16 Year Old Vincent Muldoon won his first Irish Senior Snooker Title in Carlow on Sunday beating Limerick’s  John Torpey 8 frames to 2 in the Final. Vincent a native of Galway, but playing out of the Waterford Snooker Club, has previously won various underage Irish titles.

In the final, Vincent got off to a flying start racing into a 6 nil lead in the first session leaving John with a mountain to climb in the second session. John rallied back but alas it was just to make the scoreline respectable until Vincent won the tenth frame to take the title.

Vincent is a good prospect for the future and has been runner-up in the European U/19 Championships for the last two years.
