Irish international rider Anna Merveldt, in only her third international outing with the 11 year old Coriolan gelding Coryolano, scored 67.60% to place second in the Grand Prix Special at Achleiten CDI3*, Austria on 17th June. Initially placed joint second with Canadian rider Christilot Boylen and Gachino, Anna and Coryolano were elevated to outright second place following a review of the collective marks. Speaking from Achleiten this afternoon Merveldt confirmed that Coryolano would be her mount at the European Dressage Championships in La Mandria, Turin, Italy [29th August to 2nd September 2007]. She described Coryolano as a “very promising horse” and went on to say “I haven’t even put my foot down on the accelerator yet, there is a lot more to come from him in the future”.

Victoria Max-Theurer maintained her winning from at Achleiten to take first place in the Grand Prix Special on a score of 70.72% with August der Starke and complete a clean sweep of all the big tour classes.
