What We Do

The Performance Life Skills and Planning Support Service looks at two key components of an athlete the performance environment around them and the personal skills needed to operate effectively as a high-performance athlete.

Performance Life Skills coaches work with athletes to develop and enhance their personal performance management skills (planning, negotiation, communication) to ensure that their training and recovery are optimised and that their athletic life is balanced with other activities and demands.

ASAS - Student Athlete Support

The Accreditation for Student-Athlete Support (ASAS) is a Sport Ireland Institute initiative designed to ensure that high-performing student-athletes across Ireland can successfully balance sport and education. Grounded in the principle of the right to education, ASAS recognises Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that provide flexible, structured, and student-centered support for dual careers. Accreditation highlights good practice, builds a trusted national network of athlete-friendly institutions, and offers athletes confidence that both their academic and sporting ambitions will be supported.

By setting clear, nationally recognised standards, ASAS helps institutions strengthen their services, create stronger connections between sport and education, and ensure consistency across the sector. The evolving framework draws on international best practice and the lived experiences of Irish athletes to remain relevant and impactful. With a growing network of accredited HEIs, ASAS not only supports student-athletes but also benefits sport and education providers through recognition, collaboration, and shared expertise—creating an environment where athletes can thrive on the field, in the classroom, and in their future careers.

Athlete-friendly Employer Network

The Athlete Friendly Employer (AFE) Network aims to connect athletes with potential employers with a view to securing professional work opportunities either after their sporting career or as part of a dual career. AFE companies get access to a unique and valuable talent pool of highly motivated and driven individuals. The athletes we work with are goal orientated, they understand high performance teams, they crave growth and challenging feedback and operate every day in globally competitive environments. For the athletes, they get to build their 2nd career during their sporting one and set up a plan for when they decide to retire from competitive sport
