This attractive biodiversity walk follows a firm and dry graveled path along a bog right-of-way through cut-away raised bog. It brings the walker past low-lying meadows, wetland swamps and broadleaf birch woodlands on an acient 'tochar' route, originally built by turf cutters to enable them remove the turf, and offers faciilities such as seats and environental information provided in a charming manner.

Molly from Clare

This used to be such an amazing, calming walk… today there were beer and cider cans, wine bottles and plastic milk jugs on both sides of the water canals/ditches. The water is oily, as if it’s been dumped into! The earthen bee hotel (for overwintering bees) no longer exists and the signage for plants and wildlife and in a sorry state. This big walk needs help! It’s shameful to be errecting new benches when the land is being abused by litter and waste!
