Kayaking coach and her athlete

It is important that people with disabilities are active and get the recommended 30 minutes of moderate physical activity five days a week in order to help maintain and improve their mental and physical health.

Here you’ll find exercises that can be adapted to suit you and links to the nationwide network of Sports Inclusion Disability Officers (SIDOs) that are based around the country in Local Sports Partnerships. Our SIDOs work to support people with a disability and local communities to get more active.

Sport Ireland and our Local Sports Partnerships are passionate about helping people get active, participating in sport or physical activity and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to do so in their own community.

All exercises on the Your Personal Best section of the Sport Ireland website are intended for people of all fitness levels. However, if it has been a while since you’ve exercised or you have any concerns about your health please seek medical advice before starting a new exercise routine.
