American Football Ireland

Flag Football  Flag Football is a version of American Football played without the American Football characteristic contact between players. In Flag Football, tackling (downs) is not allowed, instead flags are attached to the ball carrier’s belt, one on each side of the waist. 
SENIOR LEAGUES 20 clubs currently participate - playing across three divisions; the AFI Premier Division, the AFI Division 1 and the AFI Division 2.

AIG FZ Forza Irish Open   
WIS Racquet Sports Coaches Leadership Programme Badminton Ireland, Table Tennis Ireland, Tennis Ireland and Irish Squash present the first collaboration between all three sports. The programme, entitled ‘The Racquet Sports Coaches Leadership Programme’ will give female coaches from our four sports the opportunity to gain knowledge and collaborate with each other. 
Para Badminton Academy  Badminton Ireland have launched a Para-Badminton Academy in the NIA in Blanchardstown. The academy is on from 5-7pm every Thursday.

Guided Kayak River Trips These trips are aimed at those who have completed a basic training course and who wish to progress their paddling skills on moving water. Trips are also suitable for those who are interested in progressing their kayaking skills to gaining the Level 3 Kayak Skills award. Smash It Smash It is for girls and boys aged 5 – 9 years and is all about kids being active, making friends and having fun in an inclusive and safe environment. Smash It aims to get children excited about cricket through discovery and play, learning fundamental movement skills needed for batting, bowling, fielding and wicket-keeping.
It's Wicket! It’s Wicket! introduces girls aged 9 - 13 years old to cricket through skill-based activities and games and empowers girls to own their cricketing experience. It’s Wicket! is an inclusive and safe programme that aims to get girls active, have fun with their friends and learn new skills!
Cricket Connects The Cricket Connects project aims to encourage, support, and mentor participants to undertake volunteering and coaching roles as Cricket Connects Champions within the programme and their immediate and wider community. Its primary objective is to provide more people with more cricketing opportunities more often.
On the Front Foot The On the Front Foot programme aims to advance the innovation, creativity and leadership capabilities of Future Female Cricket Leaders in Ireland. The Future Female Leaders receive individualised professional development, which includes access to coaching mentors, as well as experts from various performance environments both inside sport and from other professional domains. 
Youth Connects The aim of ‘Youth Connects’ is to upskill, develop and support Youth Leaders in the community through workshops, training and placement. Youth Leaders will receive a qualification and resources in each of the following modules:

Cycling Ireland

Bike Like Me Online Training Programme for Beginner Women  This online training programme includes weely live Zoom sessions with an inpirational leader and a 6-week training plan designed by Cycling Ireland and UCI level 3 Coach, Gráinne Hanley. Sessions will take place every Monday from 7-8pm
Bike Like Me Online Training Programme for Intermediate Women  This online training programme includes weely live Zoom sessions with Eve McCrystal and a 6-week training plan designed by Cycling Ireland and UCI level 3 Coach, Gráinne Hanley. Sessions will take place every Wednesday from 7-8pm
Beginner Turbo Training Programme  Matteo Cigala, a former professional cyclist and head coach at Cigala Cycling is delivering a 6-week programme aimed at beginners on the Cycling Ireland Training Hub. The workouts will be released weekly and will be available to complete at any time. Access to the Cycling Ireland Training Hub is free for Cycling Ireland members.  
Intermediate Turbo Training Programme  Jamie Blanchfield of Premier Endurance is delivering an intermediate 6-week programme on the Cycling Ireland Training Hub. This programme will serve as a great follow on from from Matteo's Beginner Programme. 
AXA Community Bike Rides  AXA Community Bike Rides provides opportunities for adults of all ages to take part in easy going/challenging, solo or group rides in their local community.
Cycling Ireland E-Racing Winter League The league will take place over six weeks and everyone is welcome to take part in a single race or the entire league. With a range of categories from beginner to advanced, it’s an ideal opportunity to discover cycling and join a growing online community. Races will take place every Saturday at 10am.

Diving Ireland

Empowerment of women in diving  This mentorship programme is to  focus on women in roles of leadership and especially the up-skilling of instructors who have qualified over the past 4 years. The instructors focused on the development of female members who had not made a normal progression through the dive grades system  . This programme was organised and implemented by almost exclusivly female instructors. Ran over Summer 2021 and culminated in a skills development weekend in Kilkee ,Co Clare. University clubs outstanding course completions  Organised by our University development officer ,this weekend allowed candidates with outstanding modules and assessments to get together in sheltered water conditions as sea conditions are unsuitable at this time of year for diving activity ,  This weekend was a tidy up weekend for various Rescue/mixed gas and other training that had not been completed due to COVID  Portroe Quarry ,Tipperary weekend 6/7 November 
       
Membership engagement session in Shannon University Athlone .  This 2 day session is to engage with our stakeholders ,those being members,Instructors and board members about how our course delivery has been impacted by COVID , what we have learned about delivery systems and how to proceed in the future  Saturday

Summer Soccer Schools The camps aim to provide children between the ages of 6 and 14 the opportunity to attend a week-long football summer camp over the holiday period. Every year boys and girls of all abilities turn out to enjoy five days of fun and football. 8 weeks (July & August) April to August 6-14 year olds 32,000 400 bookings.summersoccerschools.ie 
UEFA Disney Playmakers Programme To increase the development of Women’s Football in Ireland it is crucial to introduce girls into football at an earlier age – UEFA Disney Playmakers will be the first point of engagement for girls into the sport. A sports activity like no other….a fun and safe introduction to football for 5-8 year old girls. Through Storytelling & imaginative play using the magic of Disney. Focusing on developing fundamental movement, life, and football skills across 10 weeks. Facilitated by coaches who prioritizes girls’ needs. Resulting in girls that are healthy and multitalented – and choose football as an activity for life. 10 Weeks September - November 5-8 years 820 100+ Currently being designed for our website. We had 29 clubs take part in 2021 we are looking to roll out 60 centres in 2022
Futsal in the Yard A pilot Schools futsal programme in over 200 schools. Designed to be delivered by teachers with a digital booklet and video tutorials provided. Children receive 6 weeks  of Futsal including a one day blitz with a FAI Development Officer. All activities designed to suit PE Curriculum and for outdoor activity in the school yard. Each particpating school provided with 4 futsal balls free of charge. 6 weeks (started with blitz day by FAI DO and 5 weeks delivered by teachers) Started End of September. All blitz days to be delivered by End November. Teachers to run additional 5 weeks before end of school year. Primary School Children 2nd-4th Class (although open to all) On target for approx 14000 participants. 300 (teachers) N/A - Schools recrruited directly by FAI Development Officers
Student Activator Programme A recreational football programme in third level institutions. Bursarys (€500 FAI & €500 Institution) provided to Student Activators to run recreational football programems on campus. Kickstart to Recovery Kickstart to Recovery is a multi-agency partnership ran by the FAI and the HSE. CP International Friendly Tournament From the 15th to the 17th of October, the FAI hosted the CP International Teams from Northern Ireland and Scotland for a 3 Teams Friendly Tournament. Irish Street Leagues Irish Street Leagues provide football opportunities for people who might find themselves socially excluded (homeless, people in drug rehab, long term unemployed, etc). The School 1-Wall Initiative Recreational programme, ideal for any School willing to start playing. All that is needed is a ball and a wall. Suitable for Primary & Secondary. It has seen an explosion of growth nationwide, and pleasingly, in many areas not traditionally associated with Handball.
 1-Wall Schools Competitions Due to the huge and continuous rise in popularity on Schools starting to play Handball via the 1-Wall Initiative, there has been interest expressed on competitions for these new schools not typically associated with Handball Clubs. 
Cumann na mBunscoil Each year there are County and Provincial CnaB series' in the 4-Wall code of Handball (Handball codes explained). This is for age groups U11 & U13, Boy's & Girls, with Singles & Doubles grades provided. Schools are advised to contact either the County Handball Secretary (Secretary Contact Details), or the County Schools CnaB Rep to enter.

GO Games GAA Go Games are Hurling/Camogie and Gaelic Football for children up to and including 11 years of age, where every child gets to play (a Go) in every game, for the full game.
National Recreation Games The Grassroots to National Programme comprises four key pillars of activity spanning Child, Youth and Adult playing levels - Games Opportunities; Skill Development Initiatives; Applied Lifelong Learning; Organisational Effectiveness.
Youth Participation Games As a follow-on from the successful Go Games Programme for players up to U-11 in Clubs and Primary Schools, a flexible small-sided games programme called Super (Touch) games has been developed for implementation in Clubs and Post-Primary Schools.

StartBox The Start Box Initiative, a partnership between the IABA and Dublin City Council represents an ideal way to first engage with amateur boxing through the communities of Dublin. 2,500 young people engage in StartBox each year with another 1,500 engaging in the Aviva StartBox experience. This has now grown to a nationwide programme.
Life Skills Programme The Life Skills programme is designed to meet the personal development needs of our boxers throughout the stages of their careers from junior and development through elite and to life beyond competitive boxing. The principles of the program are to up-skill the boxers, their families and their key influencers in the benefits to a balanced approach to competitive sport and the positive benefits derived from activities surrounding training and competition.
Women in Sport Leadership Programme – IABA 2021 A Women in Sport Leadership Programme will be delivered through a series of online interactive sessions that will develop candidates to thrive within their specific role. Several NGB’s are participating in this programme, including providing a diverse mix of perspectives and knowledge to draw from.

Aldi Play  Rugby The Aldi Play Rugby gives every child in a participating school the chance to play rugby. This brings all children together in schools and will encourage schools to donate the funds to a local charity. 
Disability Rugby  In order to support the development of inclusive rugby and to promote opportunities for people with a disability to access the game, the IRFU aims to integrate as many players as is safe and practicable into existing rugby clubs, as well as partner with related disability organisations to provide rugby to players with a disability.

BUA Programme The BUA programme is a self-development initiative aimed at supporting young people in the association to develop leadership skills and qualities to benefit their community through expert led workshops and self-reflection, before participants put their enhanced leadership skills into action through a club action project.
Gaelic4Girls G4G is a 10 week programme incorporating coaching sessions with fun non-competitive blitzes aimed at increasing participation in Ladies Gaelic Football. The programme targets girls aged between 8-12 years who are not currently registered with a Ladies Gaelic Football club. In essence, this is a tool to attract new players.
Gaelic4Teens Gaelic4Teens is a coach education based initiative, incorporating fun coaching sessions, coach education webinars, club observations visits and a Festival Day, aimed at increasing the retention rate of teenage girls aged 13-17 years in clubs which is usually subject to an increased level of dropout.
Gaelic4Mothers&Others The Gaelic4Mothers&Others initiative, sponsored by Sports Direct, is an innovative way to introduce mothers and other women to playing Ladies Gaelic Football. Mothers often drop their kids to training and call back to collect them, but the Ladies Gaelic Football Association wants to change that.

Get Going Get Rowing (GGGR) - TrY Coaching Program  Aimed at transition year students in schools. 6 week program with an initial 4 hour workshop, teaching TY''s leadership skills and coaching technique on the Concept 2 Indoor Rowers. Over the 6 week program the TY's coach the 1st years. TY's receive a certificate at the end of the program.
GGGR - Sumer Camps  On the Water summer rowing camps aimed at teaching teenagers rowing technique, also aimed at being a feeder system for young teenagers into Rowing clubs.
GGGR - On the Water PE classes PE classes aimed at Transition years in schools to give them a new sport outside of the normal indoor sports for PE classes, usually a 2 hour class taking a class of 24 students on the water learning rowing technique

2021 SBI Club Singles Championships Snooker & Billiards Ireland would like to announce the 2021 Club Singles Snooker Championships on Saturday the 20th of November in the Nenagh Snooker and Social Club. This annual event is for our Registered Clubs to nominate players to play for a National Snooker Singles Title.
2021 SBI Shootout Snooker & Billiards Ireland have just announced the details of the 2021 National Snooker Shootout. The event is sponsored by Reevan Construction LTD. This event will be the first in our new home at the SBI HQ & Academy in Carlow on Saturday 27th of November.

The Camogie Association

Tesco Hurl With Me  The Hurl With Me initiative allows parents and guardians to train with their daughter in their local Club, learning the basic skills of the game.The aim is to give parents the opportunity to learn the basic skills of the game in a fun and supportive environment. Skills can then be practiced at home with their daughter – increasing physical activity levels for both parent and child.

County Development Officer Training Programme This project is aimed at 26 Camogie County Development Officers and the 4 Provincial Development Officers. This is a volunteer role that supports the work of the Association at county and provincial  level.
Camán n Chats This initiative is aimed at women over 25 who have never played before or haven’t played competitively in the last five years.
Camán 4 Fun Camán 4 Fun is a Retention initiative aimed at young adult females allowing them to experience Camogie in a fun way Promoting a redesign of the traditional Camogie participation experience, the games environment is changed through the rules, playing area and/or equipment in order to make the Participants the highest priority
Self-Care Series  Camán n Chats is designed to encourage and support women to discover or rediscover the game of Camogie at a fun and social pace in a safe environment for one hour a week.
Club School Link  The club school link initiative is whereby existing/new camogie clubs and local schools (primary or secondary) link together for coaching/events/information evenings etc.  The main objective is to create a presence within the local schools within the catchment area of the club and provide additional coaching/interaction with the female players/students in the area. 
Camogie Club Development Award  The Camogie Club Development Award invites new/developing Camogie Clubs to engage in a three-step process:

1. Invites a club to look at themselves and evaluate where it is with the anchors of self-sustainability and continuous development to the forefront.

2. Selecting attainable goals to allow the club to function in an improved manner to the benefit of members. Setting out a clear pathway in attaining these goals with the support of a designated person.

3. Execution of pathway and attainment of 4 development goals. Documentation thereof via case study which will be used to support future clubs



The initiative will be open to new/developing clubs in all 4 provinces (categorised as ‘Clubs affiliating/renewing their affiliation to The Camogie Association in past 5 seasons (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021)’. It is envisaged that the initiative will in future be opened to applications from all Camogie clubs. Throughout the Award process, participating clubs will be given support in engaging with other relevant bodies such as Local Sports Partnerships, GAA and other sporting clubs in their area, local business enterprises etc.
M.N.A Programme • To positively enhance perceptions about females in sport.

• Increase the number of female coaches through recruitment, development, and retention of female coaches.

• Identify and develop female mentors at grassroots level to help with the development and support of female coaches along their coaching pathway.

• Create and deliver a model directed at local level which can be engaged by all clubs to enhance the development of female coaches where the greatest impact will be felt and seen.

• Provide a sustainable model.

• To increase opportunities for women to engage, enjoy and excel in all aspects of sport at a level of their choice.
PR-Óg Programme This programme is aimed at 15-21 year olds who have a specific interest in public relations and in particular social media.

Participants will be provided with the training and experience throughout the programme to assist the PRO to fulfil their duties.

The main undertaking is to help with the demands of social media imposed on the PRO but also to help with other tasks. The PRO’s role is to use every opportunity to promote the Camogie Association in all their activities and provide timely updates on fixtures, teams, results, and other relevant information. This is where the role of social media within the sport is essential.

VI/Blind Tennis Killaloe, Come and Try Event Vision Sports Ireland in partnership with Clare LSP, Tipperary LSP and Limerick LSP are delighted to bring VI/Blind Tennis to Killaloe. One of the fastest growing sports for members of the Blind/Vision Impaired community in Ireland is Blind/VI tennis. The game is based on sound. The sponge balls have small bells inside them that make noise and alerts the players to the location of the ball. 
VI/Blind Football Development Day Taking place in Portarlington Leisure Centre for Irish players with vision impairments. Players from the three regional training centres in Cork, Galway and Dublin with the support of four of Ireland’s top clubs – Cork City, Lakewood Athletic, Mervue United and Bohemian FC and the FAI’s Football For All programme will come together for a Development Day and partake in a Blitz.
