With today’s win, Kellie joins an illustrious list of boxers that have made Ireland a force to be reckoned with on the international stage. As an ambassador for her community and country, there is no one more passionate and proud than Kellie Harrington. The sheer number of people that had their alarm clocks set for this morning’s fight and the outpouring of pride at the final bell is evidence of the impact that Kellie’s performance and personality has had on the people of Ireland. We are all immensely proud of Kellie and on behalf of Sport Ireland, I extend our congratulations to Kellie, her family, coaches, support staff and all in the Irish Athletic Boxing Association on this magnificent day for Irish sport.”
