On this walk the climb up on path through the woods is steep but from the top there are fantastic panoramic views over Glengarriff to Garinish Island, Whiddy Island and Bantry Bay. To the north you can see the full extent of Glengarriff woodlands, nestling in the rugged glen rimmed by the Caha Mountains.

Please keep dogs firmly under control.

Lovely walk. What’s the plaque on the cliff face for?

NOTE FROM SPORT IRELAND OUTDOORS: Having enquired from a contact in the area we understand it may be a memorial plaque to commemorate someone who died recently in Glengarriff.

What a super panoramic view from this vantage point, well worth the stiff climb. We did it as the sun was setting, probably not the safest time of day to do so, but we had our head lamps and suitable footwear and clothing. It gets quite cold. Some of the way markers on the trail could be renewed and a few more of them but that did not take from the walk
