Starting at the bridge over the Clare River and following purple arrows this walk takes path and woodland path up the red sandstone gorge through which the Clare River flows. It goes up the northern side nearly as far as the Clare Falls and returns along the southern side. The trail surface is in bad condition with areas of deep mud. This is a heavily wooded gorge with a series of waterfalls and rapids giving breath-taking scenery.

Dawn from Limerick

Really lovely trail through natural woodland. Beautiful setting, no forestry roads just trails, sounds of the river..bliss. Was super muddy in spots but easy to manage. Myself and my dog had very much enjoyed our walk here. My only negative is I wish it were longer! :)

Lovely walk with our dog. Sun comes through the mature trees in the morning. The waterfall is fantastic. Muddy in places but not challenging at all.

Clare Glens - such a natural beauty. Trail was not difficult but very muddy in some parts at this time of the year. Boots recommended.
