This loop takes walkers on minor road, forestry tracks and woodland trails which gently ascend through the mixed forest to the Wellington Monument folly at the summit of the Crag Hill. From its highest points, the views from the walk on top of the Slieveardagh Hills are spectacular, starting with the Kilcooley Estate and extending to the west and south across the wide central plain of Tipperary to the hills and mountains of bordering counties from Cork, Limerick, Laois and beyond. The marked forest path takes you along a winding ridge with superb views to an area of old deciduous wood where it crisscrosses a fast-flowing stream by bridges and steps.

Such a beautiful trail. The first hill we ascended was very slippery and was quite challenging due to this. Definitely recommend decent shoes. The views are incredible.

Lovely loop in natural woodland. Very well signposted. Lovely lookout at the top with a map showing the peaks. Highly recommend this short loop.

What a beautiful walk. Lots of information for families with children and also dog friendly. Beautiful views of the surrounding countryside especially from the viewing tower at the top. The walk itself is moderately hard and very fulfilling. A little piece of heaven on earth.

Scenic, well kept, with changing woodland views along the walk. Moderate incline and decline, may be difficult if you have knee or ankle problems. Full of brilliant colors and textures. Keep an eye out for different fungi and critters. Went into the pub nearby for tea after.

Very pleasant walk. Little bit hard to find the start of it as it wasn't very well signposted, but a helpful local pointed out where to park. Start/parking just outside the village at the local parish hall. It was a bit hazy the day I did it but I imagine the views are spectacular from the tower on a clear day! Dog friendly too, just not the viewing tower.
Kilcooley Abbey is just a few minutes drive away and worth a visit too!
