Get Ireland Cycling – Youth Pump Track Sessions

Co‑funded by the European Union, Cycling Ireland is delivering a nationwide series of Youth Pump Track Sessions as part of the Get Ireland Cycling project during European Week of Sport. These fun, skills‑based sessions give children and teenagers aged 5–17 the chance to build confidence, learn core cycling skills and enjoy non‑competitive activity in a safe, coached environment.

Across Donegal, Dublin, Wicklow, Clare and Sligo, young riders can try pump track and BMX‑style cycling, learning how to pump for speed without pedalling, corner smoothly, read the track and attempt basic jumps. Sessions are beginner‑friendly, with intermediate options available, and bikes can be provided where needed — making the programme accessible to all abilities and encouraging more young people to get active through cycling.
