Starting at the top of Mangan's Lane and following blue arrows, this walk works its way around the lower slopes of Garryhoe as far as a ford over a river and road. It then climbs steeply to pass between Ballycumber Hill and Garryhoe to return to Mangan's Lane. Good views of the surrounding countryside and Mountains and of Tinahely, especially from the higher slopes.

I agree with Ian. Park your car at the GAA club. The walk up Mangans Lane is nice and quiet. There is quite a steep uneven hill before the right turn up to point D but this is clearly marked on the map as crossing the contour lines of Garyhoe. The views of the surrounding hills are stunning and make sure you cross over the fence after the steep section. We met some hikers coming down the hill on the wrong side of the fence after they did the Kyle Loop and it's not easily scalable.

Excellent walk and very well way marked. Would recommend leaving your car at the GAA club and avoid parking up the laneway. Some stunning views about 2/3's the way around, with a very nice mix of changing scenery. A very enjoyable 3.5 hrs (allowing for a 25 min break), and a walk I certainly intend on doing again!

We did this walk today based on Ray's review, this is a hard walk with a lot of ascents which are not too steep but long, the final ascent is very steep on uneven ground, the descent is also a bit steep. Overall a very enjoyable walk, it is listed as moderate but on the actual sign at the beginning of the walk as Hard. You have a good half hour walk from the road to the start of the walk. the views are outstanding, bring loads of fluids.

Walked this trail in October 2012. 5 of us, moderately fit. Weather was perfect (sunny, good visibility, very little wind). Took us 3 hrs 30 mins (including 20 min break)
It's an excellent walk which I'd highly recommend., Stunning panoramic views of the surrounding countryside pretty much all of the time. Very well marked - good underfoot conditions. The steepest part of the trail is between point C and D, It's a steep enough section but relatively short and downhill all the way after that, so not a problem A good sheltered spot to take a break for some food is just before the climb, about half way around (at the river just before point "C" on the map). The trail overall is very exposed, so be prepared if the forecast is not so good.
Point to note: although posted as a 10K route it's actually 14K since the Trailhead begins 2K along Mangan's Lane. It does say this in the route description ( I just didn't quite absorb it), A suggestion might be to position the Trailhead at the bottom of Mangan's Lane, map it from there and post it as the 14K walk that it is.
